A Texas-sized room of literary creators.

Tex-indie Author Book Fair features and celebrates the work of 125+ independently published and self-published authors from Texas across every genre — fiction, non-fiction, children's, YA, self-help, zines and chapbooks, comics and graphic novels — along with the organizations that support independent creative writing. This indoor event is completely free and for readers of all ages.

Fantasy

C H Flint received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Utah. She writes fantasy she hopes will speak deeply to those who read her work. She writes and edits from her own small farm while caring for a menagerie of animals, welcoming rescued animals whenever possible. Her love of animals and her concern for young people and their treatment in the world helped to inspire her debut book, Ermingild, The Realm and the Silent Rose.

Cheryl Johnson

Children's

Cheryl Johnson is an award-winning wildlife photographer, children’s author, and nature educator based in Texas. Through Bird Nerd Publishing, she creates engaging books, games, and hands-on nature kits that inspire curiosity and outdoor exploration. Cheryl’s work blends vivid photography with kid-friendly science, making complex natural concepts fun and accessible. She regularly visits schools, festivals, and museums to share her passion for birds, critters, and conservation. When she’s not photographing wildlife or creating new educational products, Cheryl can be found exploring trails, watching birds, and encouraging young explorers to discover the wonders of the natural world. Projects reflect joy and wonder.

DeeDee Lake is a seven-time published author, speaker, and Business Coach for Authors who believes every story has the power to connect and encourage. She speaks at writers’ conferences and author events, sharing practical strategies and encouragement to equip writers for the business side of their author journey. A Navy Brat and Army wife, DeeDee draws on her military family experiences in the clean Christian military romance series Rules of Engagement, co-authored with Susan M. Baganz. Her books also include faith-filled resources for women and teens. DeeDee lives in the Texas Hill Country, where she enjoys connecting with authors and spending time with family and friends.
